- Duc de Breux, Blanc de Blancs NV
Duc de Breux is made in Merignac to the west of Bordeaux although the grapes for this excellent value sparkler come from the Charentes region just north of the city. It is made in the Charmat method, the same method by which Prosecco is made and is a blend of Ugni Blanc and Airen grapes,
An approachable and delicate wine, with floral and fruity notes to the fore. Light golden in colour with zesty scents of apples, lemons and ripe peaches. On the palate, a good mousse with mineral flavours of grapefruit with a hint of honey. A crisp finish makes this an excellent sparkling aperitif. Serve with grilled sea bass, garlic chicken or Asian style pork with a spinach stir-fry.
