Mas de Libian is situated in the village of Saint-Marcel d'Ardeche in the southern Rhone Valley. The farm has been in the Thibon family since 1670 and today the winemaking is presided over by Helene Thibon who took over in 1995. The estate has always been organic although biodynamic status was granted in 2005. The average age of the vines is 30 years and they are situated on south facing terraced plots with superb views towards Mont Ventoux. 'Bout d'Zan' is 80% Grenache Noir and 20% Syrah and 30% of the wine spends 7 months in oak barrels.

Dark ruby-red in the glass. Soft, ripe aromas of black cherries, chocolate and spice. Mouth coating and chewy in texture with flavours of plums and blackberries with a hint of vanilla. Tannic and spicy with a good long finish. Try with a leg of lamb marinated with garlic and juniper berries, a crusty baguette with tapenade or a plate of prosciutto and olives.
