Description
Alain Brumont is generally acknowledged not only as the best wine-grower in Madiran, but also one of the best in France. He owns several properties in the Southwest, Chateau Montus being one of the most important. The vineyards of Montus are superbly situated on hillsides of gravel and 'Prestige', like most of Brumont's wines is made from the Tannat grape. To try this wine is to realise why it gives many of the top Bordeaux chateaux a run for their money. Drink now or keep for 5-10 years
Tasting Notes
Almost black in colour and packed with smoky aromas of raspberry, blackberry and leather. On the palate firm layers of dark red fruits and tannins. Rustic, masculine and spicy in character. The classic accompaniment to confit of duck, Cassoulet or roast loin of wild boar with chestnuts.
