  • Domaine les Tres Cantous, Odenc Sec 2008
  • The 37-hectare Domaine les Tres Cantous is operated by Robert and Bernard Plageoles and is based in the ancient wine making region of Gaillac. Run strictly along organic lines, the estate is perhaps the most important in the region and is dedicated to producing wines made from ancient and native grape varieties such as Mauzac, Braucol and Odenc ('the grape which gave Gaillac its past glories' says Robert) from which this dry, honeyed white is made. Makes for a great aperitif!

A clear light golden in colour. On the nose aromas of pear, quince and white flower. On the palate, balanced and well structured with an imposing mouth feel and a lingering finish with further honeyed notes. After a spell in the glass the wine will assume delicate aromas of sherry and even ginger beer! Drink with duck pate, pan-fried sea bass with garlic lemon butter and spring onions or a tart, fresh Crottin de Chavignol goat's cheese.
